Berufliche Schule des Kreises Nordfriesland in Husum

Berufliche Schule des Kreises Nordfriesland in Husum or the Vocational School of Husum (BSH) has around 3.700 students and 250 teachers. There are two locations of the school in Husum, the district town of North Frisia in Northern Germany, and one in Bredstedt – a small town 18 km further in the north. At the school, mainly the theoretical part of the education within the German dual education system is covered. However, practical skills which lead to the development of well-educated young specialists are also included. This is why the school has extensive vocational workshops and labs equipped with machines where the learners acquire practical training.

BSH sees this project as a chance to improve both the socio-cultural development and competences of their students, as well as a chance to influence their thinking about the EU, the business and working environment and their future. On a more global level, the project`s exemplary function is seen in encouraging young VET learners not only to broaden their horizons, but to use their own skills to grow beyond themselves and consider starting their own business.
